1. Compare the actual project, not just two nominal heights
| Question | 6 ft (72 in) request | 8 ft (96 in) request |
|---|---|---|
| Exclusion goal | Potential deterrent; check deer pressure and enclosure size | Common starting height for broad deer exclusion |
| KUNYU published comparison | 72 in S-knot horse roll is a different product; KUNYU manufactures 72 in fixed-knot mesh to an approved deer-specific drawing | 2096-6-330 fixed-knot deer fence, 96 in, 20 lines, 330 ft |
| Still to design | Openings, gates, braces, grade changes and ground contact | |
KUNYU's 78 in hinge-joint deer fence is another published option between these nominal heights. It should not be represented as a 72 in or 96 in substitute without the buyer approving the design.
2. What does independent deer guidance say?
Iowa State University Extension notes that small enclosures and opaque barriers can behave differently from a visible, open fence. Its garden guidance gives 8 ft as a starting height for protecting a whole garden. These are application principles, not a KUNYU performance test or a guarantee at a given site.
3. Specify the system before ordering
Send the protected area dimensions, deer pressure, expected vegetation and terrain, required height above finished grade, mesh drawing, knot and coating, gate schedule, corner and end assemblies, roll length and quantity. Include a plan for uneven ground and bottom gaps. The deer and game fence range shows KUNYU options for a bulk project; the chosen fence must match the installation design.
