The 8 ft green steel T post (96 in. / 2.4 m) is the tall end of our studded post range. Set 18 to 24 inches into the ground it leaves roughly 6 ft of post standing, which is what a 60 to 72 inch fence needs — deer fence, vineyard and orchard fence, game and wildlife exclusion, solar farm perimeters and tall property boundaries. Below that height the 6 ft green steel T post is the cheaper and more common choice; above it, the 10 ft high tensile post takes over for full 8 ft exclusion fence.
The post is rolled from Q235 rail steel with a studded face and finished in Green RAL 6005 paint. The studded face is what makes a tall post work: on a 72 inch fence there is a great deal of wire to hold in position, and the studs stop it creeping down the post under tension or animal pressure. An anchor plate is fitted for ground holding, which matters more at this length because a longer post carries more leverage from wind and wire load. Hot-dip galvanized and galvanized-plus-painted finishes are available where service life matters more than cost.
Weight grade is the decision that changes the post. At 8 ft the three grades work out to approximately 7.6 lb, 10 lb and 10.64 lb per post — that is the steel you are buying, and it is what resists bending on a tall fence. We ship 8 ft T posts in bulk to farm supply importers, fencing distributors, ranch equipment wholesalers, vineyard and orchard contractors and private label buyers, packed 10 pcs per bundle with mixed container loading alongside field fence, fixed knot fence and welded wire rolls. Weight per post is the weight grade multiplied by the length, so an 8 ft post at 1.25 lb/ft is approximately 10 lb. All posts are finished in Green RAL 6005 with a studded face and packed 10 pcs per bundle. Container loading for 8 ft posts is confirmed per order — quantity is set by weight grade, bundle size and pallet plan, and a longer post loads fewer pieces per box than a short one. For scale, our 6 ft line loads roughly 1,200–1,500 pcs in a 20 ft container. A loading plan is issued with every quotation.
We sell 8 ft T posts factory-direct in bulk — not by the pallet to retail. A typical order runs from the 2,000 pcs minimum up to full container loads, and can be mixed in the same box with fence rolls and other post lengths. Posts are packed 10 pcs per bundle, steel strapped, on pallets or in custom export packing under your own label.
Four things move the number. The weight grade is the largest — you are buying steel by weight, and an 8 ft post ranges from 7.6 to 10.64 lb depending on grade. Then the finish, where green RAL 6005 paint is the economical standard and hot-dip galvanizing costs more. Then quantity against the 2,000 pcs minimum. Then the destination port and trade term. Send those four and a quotation comes back within 1–3 hours.
For an accurate bulk quotation, send the weight grade, surface finish, quantity, clips requirement, packing method and destination port. If you are not sure which grade suits the site, tell us the fence height, the wire type and the soil, and we will recommend one.
An 8 ft post buried 18–24 inches carries a 60 to 72 inch fence. For a 47 inch field fence use the 6 ft post; for a full 96 inch deer exclusion fence step up to the 10 ft high tensile post. Our guide on choosing T post height works through the calculation.
The 8 ft green steel T post is used wherever a fence needs to stand roughly 6 ft above ground — deer and wildlife exclusion, vineyard and orchard rows, game fence, solar farm perimeters and tall property boundaries. Common applications include:
Yes — bulk is how we sell. The minimum is 2,000 pcs, and orders run from there up to full container loads. Posts are packed 10 pcs per bundle, steel strapped, on pallets or in custom export packing, and can be mixed in one container with other post lengths and fence rolls.
Weight is the grade multiplied by the length, so an 8 ft post is approximately 7.6 lb at the 0.95 lb/ft grade, 10 lb at 1.25 lb/ft and 10.64 lb at 1.33 lb/ft. The 1.25 lb/ft grade is the common choice.
Set 18 to 24 inches into the ground, an 8 ft post leaves roughly 6 ft standing, which suits a 60 to 72 inch fence — deer fence, vineyard and orchard fence, game fence and tall boundaries. For a 47 inch field fence a 6 ft post is enough; for a full 96 inch exclusion fence use a 10 ft post.
Price is quoted per order rather than published, because it moves with the weight grade (the largest driver, since posts are priced on steel weight), the surface finish, the order quantity against the 2,000 pcs minimum, and the destination port and trade term. Send those four and a quotation comes back within 1 to 3 hours.
Quantity is confirmed per order, because it depends on weight grade, bundle size and pallet plan, and a longer post loads fewer pieces than a short one. For scale, our 6 ft line loads roughly 1,200 to 1,500 pcs in a 20 ft container. A loading plan is issued with every quotation.
Green RAL 6005 paint is standard. Powder coating, hot-dip galvanizing and galvanized-plus-painted are available on request — worth specifying on a tall fence that is expensive to replace, or in coastal and high-rainfall regions.
